Gary was a fantastic guide for our day trip to the Big Island. Wish we had more time with him. He was so very knowledgeable, flexible, & helped figure out the best use of our limited time on island. Perfect mix of information & conversation. We had some flight issues, & he was all-in helping us figure it out. He knows the island & the sites & it’s clear that he loves the island & all it has to share. Highly recommend this tour with Gary. Appreciated how he customized for our time & interests. Thinking about booking with Gary, do it! Gary was friendly, knowledgeable, and guided us on a wonderful tour of the big island. He was able to be flexible when we needed to make some adjustments to our schedule. He is also a good communicator. He responded quickly to any questions I had. He was well prepared. He had snacks and waters for us as well as other supplies needed for our day. He knew some great local vendors and took us many places we would not have found on our own. I really felt like my husband and I got to see a lot on our tour. I would 100% book with him again! Mahalo, Gary!

Gary took our group of four on a fantastic tour of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to see Kīlauea from several vantage points, the solidified lava lake, and walks on Devastation Trail and through a lava tube. He’s a great guide and driver and we learned so much about volcanoes and Hawaiian flora and fauna.

We had an incredible experience on a private coffee and Kona island tour in Kona, Hawaii! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Arron was welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. Walking through the coffee fields and learning about the entire process—from growing and harvesting to roasting and brewing—was both fascinating. If you’re visiting the Big Island, this is a must-do. Highly recommend—five stars all the way!

10/10! The most incredible day on the island. Gary picked us up in a pristine van, had snacks and drinks, and took us to the best stops. A coffee farm, bakery, black sand beach (with a sea turtle show off), volcano national park, lunch in Hilo, Rainbow falls and the most impressive lava tube! Our family had a perfect day and saw the best sights. Will definitely book with Gary again next time we are back! Thank you for creating the best day.

My sons and I went on a tour with Wild Hawaii tours and it was amazing. Our tour guide Trevor was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We wanted a private tour that included all of our interests and they delivered. Trevor was a very personable and kind person. They added cliff diving for my boys (actually young men) and it was a big hit. Gary, the owner was so prompt in responding to our needs and put together a plan for us in a day! If we go back to Hawaii we will certainly book tours through Wild Hawaii tours. ❤️

We had an incredible experience on our private tour of the Big Island. Our guide Alex was absolutely outstanding - incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the island, from its fascinating history and volcanic activity to the unique trees, plants and wildlife. He made the day personal, educational and unforgettable. If only I could remember half of what I learned along the way! Highly recommend Wild Hawaii Tours!

Outstanding Volcano Tour with Chris - Don’t Miss It!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Chris provided an absolutely exceptional tour from Kona to the volcano. His knowledge of Hawaiian geology, history, and culture is incredibly impressive - he answered every question we had with depth and expertise that showed his genuine passion for the subject. What really made the tour special was Chris’s personable nature. He made everyone in our group feel comfortable and engaged, and his warm personality created a wonderful atmosphere for the entire day. He’s the kind of guide who makes you feel like you’re exploring the island with a knowledgeable friend rather than just being on a standard tour. But what truly sets Chris apart is his storytelling ability. He brought the landscape to life with captivating stories about Hawaiian legends, the volcano’s history, and his own experiences. The hours flew by as we listened to his narratives - he has a real gift for making complex geological concepts accessible and fascinating. If you’re considering a volcano tour from Kona, do yourself a favor and book with Chris. It was easily one of the highlights of our Hawaiian vacation!

Our tour guide (Gary) was wildly accommodating with me and my girlfriends. We told him the type of experience we were hoping for and he curated the tour to fit our vibe perfectly. He took us around half of the island and provided so much local and culturally important information the whole way around. He also knew all the best spots for photos! He made sure to remind us to take pics and he snapped pics for us! We felt very comfortable and very safe through out the whole tour. Gary also made stellar recommendations for other activities, restaurants, and bars for us to check out on our own. We’ll certainly be recommending Wild Hawaii Tours to everyone we can and will be booking with him again for future tours!

Had a wonderful experience with Gary! He took me and my friends all around the island from Kona to Hilo, stopping to see both gorgeous tourist spots and hidden gems that I would never have had access to otherwise. Gary’s a knowledgeable guide and super accommodating. His tour van was immaculate and well-stocked with drinks and snacks. We had a great time soaking in the views, trying some amazing bars and food, and subjecting poor Gary to our singing in the van on our way. I loved that we could “choose our own adventure” and spend our tour time doing exactly what we wanted, plus more - Gary’s suggestions for the day were right on the money. I could not recommend a more fun way to see Big Island. Thank you!

This was an awesome adventure! Gary is a great tour guide, I did a solo trip to Big Island Hawaii for a few short days and this was the best way to see most of the island in a day. He is knowledgable, super accommodating and great company … got to see a lot more than if I was navigating alone and having to figure out everything myself. bc we discussed my profession of being a perfumer he made a special stop to a Vanilla Farm which was awesome! really great experience, I definitely preferred the ease of a private tour !

Best private tour on Big Island, period! We usually book tours with guides who speak our language. While preparing for our trip, we couldn't find a suitable guide — until we stumbled upon Gary’s Wild Hawaii Tours. Although there weren’t many reviews, every one of them spoke highly of their experience with Gary, so we took a chance — and it was definitely worth it. Gary catered to our every need, from adjusting the start time to planning an itinerary that was both fun and educational. He also connected well with our kids, which was a big plus. If you’re thinking of visiting the Big Island, I highly recommend Gary and his Wild Hawaii Tours. All the best, Gary!

We had an unforgettable day with Wild Hawaii Tours on the Big Island, and Gary was an incredible guide from start to finish. We had a long list of sights we wanted to cover, and Gary made it happen! Spending over 12 hours with us without missing a beat. Some of the highlights included Waipio Valley, Akaka Falls, and Rainbow Falls, each more stunning than the last. But where Gary really shined was in Volcanoes National Park. You could tell he was in his element, taking us to some hidden spots that most visitors miss and helping us avoid the crowds. It made the experience feel personal and special. We feel really lucky to have connected with Gary while his business is still growing, and suspect he’ll be fully booked before long. If you’re headed to the Big Island, don’t miss the chance to tour with him. Absolutely worth it.

Gary made for the best day on the big island! He was so flexible with our messed up travel plans and allowed us to fully customize the day to what we were most interested in seeing. Super knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. We especially loved that we were able to get out and explore, as opposed to just looking at things from a van (which a lot of other tours do). Definitely recommend if you want to have an active day around the volcanoes and other cool spots!!

We hiked out to the beautiful Papakolea Green Sand beach a little over an hour hike. While at the beach my wife twisted her ankle. We were 2.5 miles from the car and I approached Gary with his jeep. I asked if it was possible for us to catch a ride back to the parking lot. He agreed without hesitation. On the ride back we had a great conversation and I could see he was a great guy. This tour company is nothing short of amazing. When I initially booked with them, they were able to accommodate us on short notice, and for that, I couldn’t be more grateful. We booked a private tour with a few points of interest: seeing the volcanoes, waterfalls, and a quick snorkel stop. We were fortunate to have Chris as our tour guide. There are no words to describe the experience and lasting memories he helped create with our family. His humor and knowledge of the island and its history are unmatched. We were able to see everything throughout the day, accompanied by many laughs. If you are looking to book a tour that allows you to see the beauty of the island, I highly recommend booking with this company! And if you can, ask for Chris. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Our day with Gary was the absolute highlight of our trip. He was in contact with me as soon as I booked three months out, and he asked questions about our group and our interests. He tailored a day that was perfect for our group of five. We got to see very special things that 99% of people visiting will never be aware of, and he narrated the entire time with facts and stories. We had a great time incorporating Gary into our family for the day, it was like we met up with a friend who lived here and was kind enough to take us around to share all the neat things. He had a cooler with drinks and snacks, and we were very comfortable in his immaculate minivan. We toured from sun up to sun down. My only regret is that we didn't book it for earlier in the week because he gave us such great ideas for more things to do next time we visit the Big Island! Gary, if you come to Spokane give us a holler and we will take you around!
